My father has COPD and gets very short of breath. He is reverting more and more back to his youth and trying to do things he used to, such as trying to go to work. I am not sure how to stop him.

Unfortunately COPD is an entire additional ball of wax when we’re caring for our loved ones with dementia. What interventions has his primary doctor prescribed for instances of shortness of breath? With regard to reverting back to his “younger self” it sounds like your dad may be struggling with orientation to time and place. Rather than trying to stop him from this or arguing, are there ways to adapt some of the activities he is used to so they’re safe for his current level of ability? What did your father do for work?
